Manage domains

StackUp TeamUpdated July 20264 min read

Domains are the anchor of everything in StackUp. They define which sites are used for curation, how SDK data is attributed, and where data access boundaries sit. This guide covers adding domains, assigning them to accounts, and confirming auto-discovered ones.

Why domains matter

Every managed domain serves three purposes at once:

  • Curation — Prism and enrichment operate on content from your managed domains.
  • SDK attribution — signal events collected by the AI Ad Ops SDK are attributed to the domain they came from.
  • Data access boundaries — a domain is assigned to exactly one account or subaccount, and its data is scoped to that assignment.
⚠
Domains are reserved globally. A domain can only be registered once across the platform and is assigned to a single account or subaccount. If a domain you own appears taken, contact support.

Add a domain

Open Settings › Domains (or the Manage Domains card) and use the Add Domain form:

1

Domain name. A display name for the publisher, for example the site or brand name. This is how the domain appears across the console.

2

Domain URL. The bare domain, for example publisher.com, without protocol or paths.

3

Assign to. Choose the account or subaccount that owns this domain's data. The assignment sets the data access boundary, so pick deliberately: your main account for your own properties, or a subaccount for a client's.

4

Click Add. The domain appears in the Managed Domains table below, ready for SDK setup and curation.

The Managed Domains table

Each row in the table is one managed domain and shows:

ColumnWhat it shows
NameThe display name, with the domain's unique ID beneath it for support and integration references.
DomainThe registered domain URL.
Assigned accountWhich account or subaccount owns the domain, with the account ID.
StatusThe domain's state, for example active. A manual override badge indicates the assignment or state was set explicitly by an admin rather than automatically.
ActionsA menu with per-domain operations such as reassigning or editing the domain.

Auto-discovered domains

When the SDK detects traffic from a domain that is not yet registered, StackUp can auto-discover it and add it to the table pending review. Auto-discovered domains should be confirmed by an admin before they are treated as fully managed: review the entry, verify it belongs to you or your client, assign it to the correct account, and confirm.

💡
Tip: auto-discovery commonly surfaces staging environments, regional mirrors, and syndication partners running your pages. Confirm the ones you want measured and leave the rest unconfirmed.
